I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you. - 2 Timothy 1.6
Paul writes a letter of advice to his young friend, his right hand, his son in the faith, Timothy. And he remembers that Timothy's faith first lived in his grandmother and mother.
Where did your faith live before it lived in a you? A grandparent, a friend from school, a Sunday school teacher, a street preacher?
Take time this week to write a letter to the person who was Eunice or Lois in your life, who passed their faith to you. Tell that person how their faith has shaped yours, what they lived or believed or sang or shared that grew into faith in you.
Or if you are more at the Eunice or Lois phase of your life, write a letter to your Timothy. Tell the one to whom you are handing faith what faith has meant in your life. Tell him your favorite hymn. Share with her your favorite Bible verse.
Thank God that the faith is always moving and growing.
